This years line up is Gary Anderson and Robert Thornton as unfortunately Peter Wright ruled himself out. Which is such a s shame as Gary and Peter played really well together last year and finished the runners-up. Gary beat MvG a couple of days ago in the final of the Dubai Darts Masters so he is coming into this tournament in fine fettle.
The Dutch duo this year are Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld, as like Peter above, Jelle klaasen decided not to put his name forward. Holland are the favourites here but I am wary of Raymondo here. Such a shame that Holland and Scotland are in the same quarter of the draw as otherwise I would have traded them both plus England on Betfair.
It’s really tough for me to pick a winner here but I have narrowed it down to Holland, Scotland and England. Yeah I know, a serious case of sitting on the fence here, but this looks the best way to approach this tournament as each team has a player who is currently playing well below par at the moment.
I will back all three for a total of three points which will give me a profit of 4.86 points if either team wins.
Scotland 5/1 – Powers & Ladbrokes
Holland 13/8 – Skybet
England 9/4 – Boylesports & Bwin
