The Premier League – Week 12

Week 12 takes us to Bournemouth where Adrian Lewis and Michael van Gerwen play twice and their second matches are against each other. I am putting these up nice and early as I will be tied up with snooker as round 2 of the world championship starts on Thursday.

I have reviewed all 5 matches matches but will only be getting envolved in 4 of them

MvG v Peter Wright 7.15pm

Peter was pretty poor last week losing 7-2, but everyone is entitled to have a bad game. However, he has won a minimum of 4 legs in 9 of his last 10 matches and the last time he met Mighty Mike he lost 6-4.

~~~~~
van Barneveld v Lewis 8pm
Barney played well against MvG a few weeks ago but apart from that he is playing poor on the whole, last week his 3 darts average was only 92.53 compared to Adrian’s 103.54. Barney is currently 7th with 9 points and is too far back to realistically make the semi-finals, so he will probably just be going through the motions for the remainder of his time in the premier league.
~~~~~

Anderson v Wade 8.40pm

James is not a prolific 180 hitter and only got 1 last week. Gary played really well against Michael last week and had 108.54 average and got 3 18os.

~~~~~
Taylor v Thornton 9.20pm
I can’t see a betting angle in this match that is worthwhile doing so I will sit this one out.
~~~~~

Lewis v MvG 10pm

Adrian has played well so far this year but has struggled against the top 3. I am leaving myself open to a draw here but I think MvG will love the pace of this match and will win 7-5 or 7-4

The Premier League – Week 10

We are off to Sheffield on Thursday night for the next instalment of the Premier League.

Now we are down to 8 players and I can’t work out why James Wade and Phil Taylor are playing twice, surely it should be 4 matches for the next few weeks or so?!?! No doubt Mardle and Co will explain why on Thursday night.

I seem to have gone off the beaten track with my Premier League darts tips by leaving myself over exposed if matches end in draws. So I am back on track now with 3 tips for Thursday that will payout regardless if they end a draw or not!

6-6 When They Played Each Other in Week 8

Gary Anderson v Phil Taylor (7.45pm)

Gary is a slow starter, which is something that the pundits on Sky haven’t picked up on. He came from behind to draw with James Wade last week and in his match before in the German Darts Masters he only got a 79 average and lost 6-0. Phil is a notorious dominant front runner and very rarely loses if he hits the front early on, so if Gary gets out of the traps late again it’s game over as far as I am concerned.

LAY Anderson at 2.75 (7/4)

~~~~~
Robert Thornton v Michael van Gerwen (8.30pm)
MvG has amazingly drawn his last 3 premier league matches so he is infallible. Thornton is over his bad patch and he beat MvG in the final of the World Grand Prix in Dublin back in October and drew 6-6 with him 2 weeks ago. it’s hard to back against Michael at the moment but I think Robert is more than capable of winning 4 legs off of him.
BACK Thornton +3.5 Legs – 13/10 Betfair Sportsbook (2.30)
~~~~~

Lewis v Wright (9.15pm)

Wright has been in great form recently after finishing runner-up to MvG 6-4 in the final of the German Darts Masters and winning against Chizzy last week. I think Peter is much more consistent that Adrian so I have to side with Wright here.

Lay Lewis at 2.40

NB – Lay means not to win so it’s ideal for the premier league and football as you win if it’s a draw too. You can only lay on a betting exchange such as Betfair.

WGC Dell Match Play – Day 4

8/10 tips right so far on the individual matches but from here on in I will be trading the outright win market only as we get to the business end of the tournament.

day_spieth_mcilroy.jpg

I haven’t watched much of the live TV coverage as when I did it just seemed that as there were so many matches on the go at once that they mostly showed the players on the putting green which I found unexciting to watch. But now as the field is reduced to 8 matches, then 4, 2 and the final it will be very watchable from here on in.

Todays Matches

The first tee off time is 7.30 local time and 12.30pm GMT. Live coverage starts at 2pm GMT  on Sky Sports.

CedwNWxWQAE8Abq.jpg

The tee off times today are 2 and a half hours earlier than the previous 3 days so I can only assume that they will be playing 2 matches today and again tomorrow.

After looking at the matches today I think Rory has a tough match against Zach, well his toughest so far anyway. Spieth and Day look likely winners today but the double only pays 6/4 so I will trade them to win outright instead and hope Rory loses as this could prove to be more profitable.

Day won this tournament in 2014 and won last week and Spieth looks like he is playing well again. I am undecided about McIlroy as he is a bit hit and miss in his last few tournaments plus although he seems to be putting well with his new grip it might falter under pressure, but we will just have to wait and see to know for sure.

I am really hoping that it will be 2 of the big 3 in the final tomorrow as there is always something magical about watching 2 top golfers going head to head on the final round of any tournament.

Back Day To Win Outright On Betfair Exchange at 8.40 (7/1)

Back Spieth To Win Outright On Betfair Exchange at 5.80 (5/1)

Both for 2 points each

NB – I intend on laying them back at some point for “free” bets on them, but I can’t say at what point yet as I have to see how the tournament unfolds. But I will update when in the comments box at the bottom of this post.

NB – You can only lay or trade on a betting exchange such as Betfair. I make approximately 25% of my profits by backing and trading the outright win markets combined in golf, snooker & darts as it is a very low risk way of betting!!!!

Corals UK Open – Round 1

There are approximately 40 matches in round 1 and it’s tricky to asses the form as there are amateurs, BDO players and PDC players fighting it out to go through to the next round. So what I have done is picked out 6 PDC players that I am familiar with and just checked the form out for those matches and have decided to go with 3 of them.

venue_coral_uk_open

Round 1 is the first to 6 legs and coverage starts at 11.30am on ITV4 with the first leg of my treble is due to start around 12.15pm. Now be warned the ITV camera work isn’t near as good as Sky’s but Chris Mason’s commentary and words of wisdom makes up for it.

According to Oddschecker Betfair Sportsbook are the only firm offering -1.5 legs on the handicap market for all the round 1 matches. I have noticed in the past that they cover all of the possible outcomes for handicap betting for darts and snooker and it’s only a matter of time when the rest will follow suit.

There will be further tips for each round to follow for today.
