Zurich Classic – Lay Update

venue_zurich_classic_2

I previously advised to LAY Brian Stuard on the basis that there would be 4 rounds of golf, but there may only be 3 rounds due to bad weather.

I have contacted Betfair customer services and they said that all bets are void unless there are 54 holes played and the prices stay the same. So to be safe just cash out as Stroud is the joint leader with potentially 12 holes left to play and take a small loss as he has come down from 6.20 to 5.00

If there are 4 rounds I will put up the original tip in a separate post, the cashing out is just a precaution

WGC Dell Match Play – Final

Well going into the final if Jason Day wins I am +8.55 points as traded him (see previous post here). Although I think Day will win I will have a bet on Oosty so I am guaranteed a profit no matter what happens.

oosty1.jpg

Oosty is currently 13/8 (2.62) to win and maybe as high as 5/2 if he goes a shot behind early on.

BACK Oosty if he goes 1 shot behind in the front 9

WGC Dell Match Play – Day 5

Well we are into the final day now with 4 players left.

If the final is between Oosty and McIlroy there will be no bet but if it’s any other combination there will be 1 last bet.

Rory McIlroy v Jason Day

Too close to call so I will give this match a miss.

~~~~~
Louis Oosthuizen v Rafa Cabrera Bello
Louis has beaten Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson to get this far so surely he has enough in his locker to beat a player ranked 53 in the world! This is a max bet for me and 8/13 won’t last long!!
Back Oosthuizen To Beat Cabrera Bello
WGC Dell Match Play – Day 4
8/10 tips right so far on the individual matches but from here on in I will be trading the outright win market only as we get to the business end of the tournament.
day_spieth_mcilroy.jpg
I haven’t watched much of the live TV coverage as when I did it just seemed that as there were so many matches on the go at once that they mostly showed the players on the putting green which I found unexciting to watch. But now as the field is reduced to 8 matches, then 4, 2 and the final it will be very watchable from here on in.
Todays Matches
The first tee off time is 7.30 local time and 12.30pm GMT. Live coverage starts at 2pm GMT  on Sky Sports.
The tee off times today are 2 and a half hours earlier than the previous 3 days so I can only assume that they will be playing 2 matches today and again tomorrow.
After looking at the matches today I think Rory has a tough match against Zach, well his toughest so far anyway. Spieth and Day look likely winners today but the double only pays 6/4 so I will trade them to win outright instead and hope Rory loses as this could prove to be more profitable.
Day won this tournament in 2014 and won last week and Spieth looks like he is playing well again. I am undecided about McIlroy as he is a bit hit and miss in his last few tournaments plus although he seems to be putting well with his new grip it might falter under pressure, but we will just have to wait and see to know for sure.
I am really hoping that it will be 2 of the big 3 in the final tomorrow as there is always something magical about watching 2 top golfers going head to head on the final round of any tournament.
Back Day To Win Outright On Betfair Exchange at 8.40 (7/1)
Back Spieth To Win Outright On Betfair Exchange at 5.80 (5/1)
Both for 2 points each
NB – I intend on laying them back at some point for “free” bets on them, but I can’t say at what point yet as I have to see how the tournament unfolds. But I will update when in the comments box at the bottom of this post.
NB – You can only lay or trade on a betting exchange such as Betfair. I make approximately 25% of my profits by backing and trading the outright win markets combined in golf, snooker & darts as it is a very low risk way of betting!!!!
WGC Dell Match Play – Day 3
Today is the final day of the group stages where see the field reduced from 64 players to 16 with the top player from each group going through to 16 man knock-out format.
So far so good with 4/5 tips right so far and I will continue to lay for the rest of the tournament.
Spieth Hoping For 3/3 Wins Today
There are 32 matches again today but I only going to look at the 13 matches of players who have won twice and try to pick out the weakest opposition and lay them.
Z Johnson v Lowry
  • *Lay Lowry at 3.60 (5/2)
Koepka v Willet
  • *Lay Willet at 2.90 (15/8)
Day v Casey
  • *Lay Casey at 3.60 (5/2)
Cabrera Bello v Kjeldsen
  • *Lay Kjeldsen at 3.15 (9/4)
Spieth v Thomas
  • *Lay Thomas at 4.50 (7/2)
~~~~~

* Lay means not to win and is ideal for match play as you also win if the match is halved. You can only lay on a betting exchange such as Betfair

WGC Dell Match Play – Day 2

golf_pic_20

6 of yesterday’s 32 matches were halved so I will continue laying for day 2. I am pushed for time to do a write up as I am currently watching snooker and have yet to look at tonight’s darts matches.

Phil Mickelson v Daniel Berger (3.50pm GMT : 10.50am local time)

*LAY Berger at 3.30 (9/4)

~~~~~
Andy Sullivan v Matt Jones (4.30pm GMT : 11.30am local time)
*LAY Jones at 2.80 (7/4)
~~~~~

Matt Kucher v Fabian Gomez (6.30 GMT : 1.30pm local time)

*LAY Gomez at 3.60 (5/2)

~~~~~
*LAY means not to win which is ideal for match play as you win if it ends a draw too. Laying can only be done on a betting exchange such as Betfair.
WGC Dell Match Play – Day 1
misc10.jpg
I wish that there were more match play tournament as I personally find it more exciting to watch than stroke play.
Now I think that Day and Casey will win their matches as they are playing well at the moment and the double pays just under 7/4. But if I get 1 match wrong it’s more or less a 1 point loss whether I do the double or do the 2 lays. But if I lay their opponents instead I have the added benefit of winning if the matches are ties too.
Day v Mcdowell (3.20pm GMT)
Jason Day won this back in 2014 and won last weeks Arnold Palmer Invitational. Graeme Mcdowell came joint last in this last year and has missed the cut in his last 2 tournaments.
Lay Mcdowell at 3.25 (9/4) Betfair Exchange
~~~~~

Casey v Jaidee (3.30 GMT)

Paul Casey has finished runner-up in this tournament twice and has had 2 top 10 finishes in his last 2 tournaments.
