Free Horse Racing Lay Betting Tips – Rules

After months of paper trading favourites not to win AKA laying, I am please to announce that I will be ready to go live with my lay tips on 1st March 2017. I estimate around 20 points profit per month.

I intend on posting three or four favourites to lay per day which will be posted on here around 12.00pm – 1pm.

Naturally I will include my lay tips on my results spreadsheet, which can be found here.

A lot can happen after I put up my horse racing lay tips such as non runners, favourites drifting out in the betting and going changes etc. So below are a set of rules to cover all outcomes.

Rules

  • Lay at Betfar SP (BSP)
  • Maximum lay price 6.00 (5/1) as drifting favourites do win
  • Has to be a minimum of 5 runners
  • All lay tips are for a 1 point stake
  • Betting bank is 25 points

If you are new to laying and you need me to explain this in more detail, please feel free to contact me on Facebook or Twitter.

You will need an account with a betting exchange such as betfair as you can’t lay with a bookmaker. Open a Betfair account here, Then place a £10 bet and get THREE £10 bets free!

WGC Dell Match Play – Day 3

Today is the final day of the group stages where see the field reduced from 64 players to 16 with the top player from each group going through to 16 man knock-out format.

So far so good with 4/5 tips right so far and I will continue to lay for the rest of the tournament.

Spieth Hoping For 3/3 Wins Today

There are 32 matches again today but I only going to look at the 13 matches of players who have won twice and try to pick out the weakest opposition and lay them.

Koepka v Willet

  • *Lay Willet at 2.90 (15/8)

Cheltenham Festival – Day 3 Lay

2.50 (Grade 1) Ryan Air Chase 2m4f

I am going to oppose another “banker” favourite Vautour in the Ryan Air Chase.

Owner Rich Ricci stated that it was the Gold Cup or nothing for Vautour and then on Tuesday he switched to the easier option of the Ryan Air Chase. If Vautour was 100% right he would be running in the Gold Cup so there are some doubts!

Cheltenham Festival – Day 1 Wins

Throughout the festival I will be putting up placepots, lays and wins in separate posts so there should be something for everyone.

A placepot is where you have to pick a horse to be placed in the first 6 races of a meeting and are well worthwhile doing for the Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot as they can pay out over 1,000/1.

You can do placepots online with all bookmakers under the tote section or in person in any betting shop which is like filling out a lottery ticket. If you have any queries about placepots I will have my Facebook & Twitter accounts open so you can ask me there.

The going is officially soft (good to soft in places).

I have a bit of everything to back today, each way, place and a win bets.

3.30 Grade 1 – Stan James Champion Hurdle (2 m)

I tipped Identity Thief each way at 14/1 on 26th January on Facebook and Twitter a few days before I started this website and he is now down to 15/2. So with Faugheen declared a non runner last month I am more than happy with my selection. Annie Power is the 5/2 favourite and a mare hasn’t won this race for over 20 years, she is a lay for me which is detailed in my lay post.

Identity Thief has been placed in 7/8 races and was pulled up in the other race. My only slight concern here is that he hasn’t run at Cheltenham before. Won a grade 1 and a grade 2 and has won on good to soft and soft so will love the ground.

I would be shocked if he wasn’t placed.

4.10 Grade 1 – OLBG Mare’s Hurdle ( 2m3f)

I tipped the 2nd favourite Polly Peachum to win on the 2nd January, which she duly obliged, but I will be jumping ship today. Vroum Vroum Mag sounds like she was named by a 3 year old boy, silly name aside she is nap of the day here and it’s a shame that she isn’t a bigger price but you can only play the hand that you are dealt.

Unbeaten in 8 races since joining Willie Mullins and 3 of those were on today’s conditions, soft ground.

NB – Money back if second with Paddy Power who are quoting 2/1 up to stakes of £25 on all races this festival!

4.50 Listed – National Hunt Challenge (3m7f)

I am not that keen on JP McManus’s Minella Rocco who is the 9/2 favourite here but he is too high to lay for me so instead I will be going for a place with Southfield Royale at Betfair Exchange SP.

Prices for places tend to be much higher with Betfair Exchange than with any bookmaker.

Southfield Flyers last 2 outings have produced a win in a grade 2 and a second in a grade 1 behind the useful Tea For Two so he is coming into the race in great form. Has won on this ground and has one of the best jockeys in the this amateur race, Nina Carberry!

20 runners in this race so I will be opting for a place.

Back Southfield Royal for a place (1-2-3)

1.30 Grade 1 –  Sky Bet Supreme Novice’s Hurdle (2 Miles)

Min is currently the 2/1 favourite tomorrow who since joining Willie Mullins’s yard from France has won 2/2 races by 10 & 14th lengths.

People always get over excited by horses who win by big margins especially if they are trained by Mullins and ridden by Ruby Walsh. But both horses who finished second to Min in Ireland ran in the same listed race next time out and finished last and second last which is clear sign that Min won 2 weak races.

Also both wins were on heavy ground and it’s soft (good to soft in places) tomorrow.

LAY – Min at 3.00 (2/1)

If unmatched before the race lay in running

~~~~~
3.30 Grade 1 – Stan James Champion Hurdle (2 miles)
Annie Power is the 5/2 favourite here who has won an impressive 13/15 races, but guess what track she lost those 2 races, yep you’ve guessed it Cheltenham. She has ran here 3 times and won once over 2m5f, Fell at the last last year and came 2nd over 3 miles in 2014.
It’s a very steep uphill climb and some horses are suited to this and some are not and there are question marks over her capabilities here!
I personally think 2 miles is too short in trip for her, yes she won her first 6 races over 2 miles but there weren’t grade ones! Willie Mullin’s hasn’t entered her in a 2 mile race for over 3 years which confirms this isn’t her ideal trip.
Annie Power is just another over hyped horse for the Festival by the racing media as let face it they have to write about something other than results! She is only an after thought for this race after her stable mate Faugheen was withdrawn.
Willie Mullin’s is spreading out his top guns as he doesn’t want them racing against each other even if it means running one over the wrong trip!
LAY – Annie Power at 3.00 (2/1)
If unmatched before the race lay in running
NB – LAY means not to win and can only be done on a betting exchange such as Betfair and not with a traditional bookmaker.
